Maintenance Manager--FAR 135 Airline

Department: Maintenance
Location: El Paso, TX

Ameriflight, the nation's largest Part 135 Cargo airline is seeking a Maintenance Manager to help us provide unparalleled service and value for our customers, with the highest dedication to safety, innovation, and teamwork. Ameriflight operates over 150 aircraft with more than 1,500 weekly departures from bases across the United States and Puerto Rico.

Position Overview:

Reporting to the Director of Maintenance Administration, the Maintenance Manager is responsible for the overall maintenance operation and fleet performance of their base. The Maintenance Manager promotes a safety conscious work force and collaborates with other departments to continuously improve our processes and performance.

  • The El Paso base operates approximately 4-6 aircraft supporting our Charter department

Responsibilities:

Responsible for the oversight of maintenance functions and workforce to include but not limited to:

  • Provide leadership and direction to ensure high standard of performance by the maintenance operation at the base level
  • Direct the day-to-day maintenance operations at the base level
  • Provide technical direction and assume technical responsibility for maintenance work accomplished by technicians or by outside contract maintenance providers
  • Ensure all training requirements are accomplished
  • Ensure proper and timely communication with Maintenance Control to assure on-time performance, including making accurate estimates of maintenance delays
  • Ensure proper and timely communication with Director of Maintenance Administration and other management personnel in all matters relating to the maintenance base
  • Ensure all logbook items and documentation are complete and correct, and all documents are uploaded to our electronic record storage system
  • Promote positive employee relationship and effective lines of communication while enforcing regulations and company policy
  • Promote and maintain a safety awareness culture
  • Review and evaluate employee performance
  • Other duties when assigned.

Requirements:

  • Must have excellent management and communication skills
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in aviation maintenance with minimum of 3 years in a management/supervisory role
  • FAA A&P License
  • Hands-on maintenance experience with Beechcraft, Embraer or Swearingen turboprop aircraft is preferred
  • Strong knowledge in FAA Part 135 operations
  • Familiarity with business skills as relating to maintenance operation, i.e. budgeting, cost control, labor allocation, parts and inventory management
  • College degree is preferred, but not required
  • Proficient in MS Office suite; Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.
